NJSPLS Fishing Trip ~ July 13, 2018  

ALL DAY BOTTOM FISHING ABOARD THE 62' MIMI VI was a great trip!

The captain and crew were the best.
The water was flat and the temperature was perfect.
And, best of all, everyone went home with a lot of fish!

2018 Annual Awards Dinner

 

On June 2, 2018 the NJSPLS Annual Awards Dinner was held at the Clarion Hotel in Toms River, NJ. Awards and Scholarships were presented to the following:

 

Barry Gleissner received the Surveyor of the Year Award for his many contributions to the society and the surveying profession. Barry is a second-generation surveyor, following in the footsteps of his father. During his two-year tenure as NJSPLS President he chaired the legislative committee, created Technician’s Day at SurvCon and was involved with the CST program with the state.
 
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Barry Jones in recognition of his contributions over the years to the surveying profession in New Jersey. Barry has dedicated himself to the surveying profession as well as NJSPLS. He is a former Director, President, Co-Chair of the Legislative Affairs committee, a recipient of the Surveyor of the Year Award and two Presidential Citations. He served for ten years on the NJ State Board of PE & PLS and served two terms as its President.
 
Frank Slaninko, Jr. received the Technician of the Year Award. Frank has spent the past twenty years in the surveying field. He holds a NSPS CST designation, has had Flood Plains, FEMA/NFIP, GPS, and traffic safety training. In addition to his professional activities he finds time to be a NJ varsity football official.
 
The Friend of the Society award was presented to John Cooke. John has been a Sustaining Member, exhibitor and instructor for the past ten years at SurvCon. His workshops are overwhelmingly popular and well attended. He presently operates the CivilTraining, LLC division of Wetland Studies & Solutions.

How to Pay Your Dues Online


NOTE: It is strongly suggested that you use a browser OTHER THAN Internet Explorer to access the site and submit payment. Suggested browsers are: Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome.

First login using the username and password that was emailed to you. If you already logged into the new site and created a
new username/password, please use your updated information.
This should take you to the MANAGE PROFILE page (or MANAGE PREFERENCES page, if this is your initial login)

At the MANAGE PROFILE page you will find the heading > Invoicing Payments and History.

> Click on the Invoices option. A new screen will open.
> Click on box next to the selected invoice that you wish to pay (there should only be one invoice in the screen)
> Click pay selected invoices
> Payment screen will open where you can then enter your secure credit card information and submit the payment information

After you have paid your dues you also have the option on the Manage Profile page to print out your current Membership Card.

It is always a good practice to login to the site whenever you visit, as there are features on the website that are available only to members that have logged in.

 


QUESTION:  How Can I Access my PDH Credits?

ANSWER:

With our website you can keep a record of all your PDH (Professional Development Hours) taken through NJSPLS. Below are instructions on how you can access and view and/or print your credits:

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR CREDITS ONLINE:
1) Go to http://www.njspls.org
2) Click to sign in with your username and password on the top right of home page
3) Click on Manage Profile in the upper right corner of the screen
4) Scroll down to Content & Features
5) Click on Professional Development
6) Click on Journal Entries
7) Select date range and click Apply Filter
8) Click on Print Transcript

The NJSPLS has many different committees, dedicated to the promotion of the Professional Land Surveying field. Watch this page for important insight into what we are doing for you.  President Ambrose Gmeiner has appointed the 2018 committee chairs and members, in addition to creating a few Ad Hoc committees on timely issues.
