News & NOTES from the NJSPLS

NJSPLS Nominating Committee ReporT

Pursuant to the NJSPLS By-Laws (Article V, Section 1) Chairman of the NJSPLS Nominating Committee, John Beattie, PLS presented the slate of officers for 2020-2022:

Jeremy Klapper - President-elect (2022-2024)
James Heiser - Vice President
Charles Bell - Secretary/Treasurer
David Aguanno - Director-at-Large

The NJSPLS Board of Directors unanimously accepted the report at their September 24, 2019 meeting.

According to the By-Laws, ... "any member in good standing may be nominated as a candidate for any office for which he is qualified, by petition signed by at least fifteen (15) voting members in good standing. Nominations by this procedure will close on October 31, 2019."

Petitions should be mailed to NJSPLS headquarters. Ballots will be sent electronically to all eligible voters by November 15, 2019.


FEMA Elevation Certificate Update

The current version of the FEMA Elevation Certificate expires on November 30, 2018. However, we have received direction from FEMA that the current version should be used until further notice. FEMA is in the process of preparing an official bulletin conveying this information, but we wanted to update you as soon as possible.
