(Update September 2015)
1. On October 7, 2015, Mr. Dan Martin, the Northeast Regional Advisor, is scheduled to visit the New Jersey Department of Transportation to introduce himself and to explain what his agency does to benefit taxpayers along with a short tutorial on geodesy for the novice. Several design units within the DOT have expressed interest and hopefully will provide positive feedback.
2. The New Jersey Geodetic Survey received correspondence from the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) on September 25, 2015 that an important level project observed by our office along the Jersey Shore within the communities impacted the most by Super-storm Sandy has finally been adjusted and included in the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) database. This project was submitted to them in December 2013. This project’s official name is Level Accession Project L27945/1, “Belmar to Seaside Park, New Jersey” and includes 134 “new” bench marks.
