ALTA®/ACSM Standards

As a benefit to the public, the survey profession, title insurers, and abstracters, The American Congress on Surveying and Mapping and the National Society of Professional Surveyors, Inc., have worked with ALTA® to create general standards for surveys. Also developed were Accuracy Standards to address issues such as Positional Uncertainty and Minimum Angle, Distance and Closure Requirements for the ALTA®-ACSM Land Title Surveys.
